My Bio

Hello, I go by Donovan!

I'm a quiet person most of the time, but I'm very open and welcoming to anyone who reaches out to me directly. So feel free to message/note me if you want to! I love meeting new people, even if it's on a whim. :)

My biggest passion is creating stories, in every aspect. I get deeply invested in anything from creating characters to symbolism and plot development; I also aspire to create in many different mediums, like writing novels, drawing comic strips, and animating.

Music is another love of mine. While I don't compose my own music yet, I love listening to new genres and becoming more familiar with them.

Metal was my favorite genre growing up, and I spent years being obsessed with power metal and progressive metal. It's still my most listened-to genre.

Video game soundtracks like Night In The Woods, Rimworld, and anything by Toby Fox became another obsession, and from there I starting branching out even further.

Now I deeply enjoy bluegrass, musical soundtracks, techno, celtic music, and basically any song that sounds good to me. I want to try even more genres in the future like reggae and R&B, and much much more.

Gaming is a small pasttime of mine. Old Pokemon games and Animal Crossing are my go-tos when I'm feeling chill, and Pikmin/Pikmin 2 is fun to try challenge runs if I'm feeling up for it.

Watching streamers is what I spend a lot of time doing, lately I've been watching Jerma985 VODs. And even though I'm taking a break from it right now, I consider myself a devoted Vinesauce fan at heart.

Thanks for checking out my page! If you've read my entire bio, hopefully you share some of my interests.

...Or at least, the extremes are the only sides being heard. The extreme of the pro-AI side either doesn't believe there is any theft/plagiarism involved, or they accept the fact that AI uses stolen art to create new images, and don't care. The extreme of the anti-AI side spends their time defining what art is and why it exists, creating their own definition of what is or isn't considered "real art". My belief lies in the middle. I believe there's only one thing wrong with the current AI image generation systems: plagiarism. On plagiarism So what are the differences between learning from an art piece, using an art piece as a reference, creating fanart, and copying an art piece? Why are some considered IP theft, while others are acceptable? I can't give the answer to this question, and no one can, because everyone has a different opinion on where the line is drawn. IP theft is a concept created by humans, in an online world that was created by humans, so only humans can decide its

My stance: Using AI to create images can be a valid tool for all artists. The only problem with current AI image generation is the immoral database. Due to a personal struggle I've had with drawing, I won't be making a visual art piece to represent my views on AI anymore. I wanted to do it so my opinion would have a chance of being seen, which would have been fully explained in the description of the art piece. However, I've seen other people making the same argument that I wanted to make, so at least that's covered.
